Midlands Jets

Midlands Jets 13/14th June 2009

A few of us travelled south once again for the Jet Fly-in at the Midlands MFC site in Co. Offaly.

Forecast looked iffy, but the day turned out to be great with plenty of sunshine and a nice wind. Only late in the day we got a bit of rain, but it dried up again for a few more flights before we all packed up about Six.

It was a really enjoyable day at a great site, and the Midlands Club fed us well with burgers, Only managed Three flights with the Bobcat myself due to gear problems but enjoyed every one :-)

A good range of Jets and other models, pity more of the 'down South' Jet flyers did'nt turn up they missed a good day.

Of course there was also some Funjet (ducks) flying although Harry's didnt last long when he lost site of his own laughing so much at Robert having a mid air with mine ! serves him right, blammed me too, recons too get his own back at the indoor on wednesday night !

Lots of flying was done, and Harry and Robert were even trying some Jet formation flying

Andreas and Hajo from the midlands club each flew a Boomerang sprint, very similar to the standard Boomerang but the military covering makes them look much better in the air (if it had a pilot in the cockpit :-)

Harry's Boomerang coming into land, (Harry clocked up the most flights (7) of the day - yet again!)

Roberts Harpoon about to make a perfect touch down on the nice grass

Peter Carson flew his very fast Boomerang Elan

The Club shelter proved very useful late in the day when the rain came.
